UNION MINI-TERM COURSE ABROAD IN ROUEN, FRANCE DECEMBER, 2008

 

Union's International Programs will offer a three week mini-term abroad at ESIGELEC University in Rouen, France during the winter break between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Expected dates are December 1 thru December 19, exclusive of travel to and from Rouen. There will be no faculty member in residence for this program, but students will be closely supported by the International Relations Office at ESIGELEC. No French language background is necessary for this program. This mini-term will count as one Linguistic and Cultural Competency credit.

ELIGIBILITY

 

The Rouen Mini-term is open to all engineering and computer science majors. To be eligible students must have an overall cumulative average of 2.5 or greater as certified by the Registrar. Students must have a valid passport at the time of travel.

 

EXPENSES

 

The standard mini-term fee of $3,500 applies to this mini-term. The fee covers all mini-term costs, including room and board. Living arrangements will be made with French students who speak excellent English. Students will be responsible for travel to and from Rouen, as well as personal expenses and independent travel on the weekends. Students on financial aid programs should contact Financial Aid (388-6123) about loans to help cover the costs.

Interested students need to apply now by filling out the application form available from Nancy Cooper or Prof. William Thomas, International Programs, Humanities 211, (Phone # 388-6002) thomasw@union.edu, and completing the essay as required by international programs. Turn in all applications at the International Programs office.
